Roi Borrallas
Solo
The natural habitat of every clown is the stage, with their audience.
But what happens when they find themselves alone?
It is in the dressing room that the person and the character merge. Where the boundary between them fades away. A liminal space, neither entirely the stage nor entirely real life. It is on this border that this performance unfolds.
Enter and discover the backstage of this artist: his ideas, his madness. See how he defends himself from solitude and routine through imagination and humor.
Enter and discover what no one sees: a person facing themselves. An actor without an audience. A clown when no one is watching.
In SOLO, we witness, through a mirror, the intimacy of this character.
Puppets, masks, object manipulation, and above all comedy, are the tools this piece uses to speak through humor about solitude and the masks we all wear in daily life.

Bio
Roi Borrallas (Vigo, 1985) began performing in amateur theater at the age of 15 and debuted as a clown in a traditional circus at 21, an experience that provided him a solid foundation in various circus disciplines. Roi has consolidated a personal style through street and stage performances that explore the human condition, loneliness, and innocence, connecting with the audience through gesture and emotion, transcending language barriers.
As the founder of the Cia. Roi Borrallas, he has developed an intimate and minimalist approach to clowning. His first show, “Traga Tiérrame” (2008), earned him the Best Show Award at the Pilar Festival, and his second, “La Bella Tour” (2012), was awarded with the Artescena Jury Prize and the MalabHaría Critics’ Award.
His most recent production, “SOLO”, has been seen at multiple festivals and venues, and has received multiple awards: the Zirkólika Award for Best Clown Show (2022), the Best Male Performance Award at FETEN (2023), the Critics’ Award in the National Circus category (2024), and the MalabHaría Audience Award (2025).
